Sacramento, Calif – The Center for Digital Government announced today that Riverside Public Utilities’ (RPU) website GreenRiverside.com has received recognition in its 2010 Digital Government Achievement Awards.

Honoring state and local governments across the U.S. that are leaders in digital delivery, the Digital Government Achievement Awards (DGAA) highlight outstanding agency and department websites and projects at the application and infrastructure levels.

The Utility’s site GreenRiverside.com was one of only 50 award recipients in this year’s contest, winning the DGAA for the “Government-to-Citizen” government website category.

Launched in January 2007 to help keep residents of the City of Riverside, CA, informed on the latest environmental news affecting them and the Utility, the site has grown to become a central reference point for Riverside residents seeking news and information about green power technology, local green events, and sustainable living practices.

In addition to providing helpful e-publications such as the “Green Action Plan” and “Sustainability Workbook,” GreenRiverside.com also features a media player which plays episodes of the Utility’s award winning Green Power Report weekly radio show.
